Operator duties under the German Industrial Safety Regulation, from inspection deadline to emergency call
Anyone operating a lift has duties with fixed deadlines: a main inspection by the approved inspection body at least every two years, the intermediate inspection in between, defects with deadlines by severity, an emergency call system that gets through when it matters, and an emergency plan for freeing trapped persons. The lift installations module keeps each installation with its roles, calculates the next inspection dates from every recorded inspection according to the rules of the BetrSichV and reminds the people responsible. Dates stated by the inspection body in the inspection certificate always take precedence.
Every recorded inspection yields the next main and intermediate inspection, due at month end, with the rules for early and late inspections. A daily check reminds the responsible and the appointed person, by default 60 days ahead.
2
Defects by severity
Dangerous, safety-relevant and minor defects with their own deadlines. A dangerous defect sets the installation to shut down; it only returns to operation once a follow-up inspection confirms the repair.
3
The emergency call before the 2G shutdown
The emergency call system is recorded per installation with transmission path and network operator. The announced network shutdown dates are preloaded; twelve months before, a defect is created automatically for an emergency call still on 2G.
4
Emergency plan and checks
The emergency plan is versioned and approved, and its handover to the emergency service is recorded. The appointed person checks against a checklist including a test emergency call; anything found becomes a defect.
