An expired domain takes everything with it
An expired domain can be taken over by others. Website, incoming mail and certificate issuance are lost in one go. Domain management keeps the inventory as objects of its own: registered with whom, running from when to when, owned by whom, at what cost and connected to what. The number in the format DOM-NNNNN is assigned by the system; internationalised domains are held as punycode with a readable form alongside.
A domain is due for review if its expiry falls within the lead time and it does not renew automatically. If it does renew automatically, it appears neither in the cockpit nor in the widget. The lead time is 90 days and configurable.
