Vulnerability Scanner Reads data

Greenbone / OpenVAS

Scan results become decisions with evidence

The Greenbone connector links isidaten to the vulnerability scanner from Germany: via the Greenbone Management Protocol (GMP), scan tasks, reports and individual findings are fetched hourly, deduplicated and mapped to the IT systems in your inventory. Multiple scanners are explicitly supported, for example one per site or network segment. The scanner remains the scanning authority: isidaten creates no tasks there but can start and stop existing ones — and turns every finding into a process with status, treatment decision and measure.

What is synchronized automatically
  • Scan tasks with status & progress
  • Report head data per scan run
  • Individual findings with CVSS, quality of detection (QoD) & proposed solution
  • CVE references, linked to CSAF advisories
Your benefits

Mirror, not remote control

Scan tasks are still created in the Greenbone interface. isidaten mirrors them and can start or stop them — deliberately nothing more.

No silent closing

Auto-closing can be disabled per connection and only applies if the host actually appeared in the new report. Machine-closed findings stay marked as such.

Findings become processes

Every finding carries a status, a treatment decision with reasoning and approval — and can be linked to measures, like an audit finding.
